Matcha has become all the rage over the past year, with the likes of Blank Street bringing out delicious flavours like Iced Blueberry and Salted Pistachio.

And now the beauty industry has jumped aboard the trending train to create its own skincare and infused fragrances.

Think: PHLUR’s Matcha Milk Hair and Body Mist, Laneige’s Matcha Bubble Tea Lip Mask and REHAB’s Matcha Scalp Serum.

Now something new is coming, and it’s from one of many beauty lovers’ favourite brands, Huda Beauty. Let us introduce you to Easy Bake Matcha Milk Cake.

The anticipated launch will be on the 12th March, but we got our hands on it early to give Metro readers an exclusive look at what’s to come.

Huda Beauty’s bestselling Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder has been given a limited-edition upgrade that will correct and reduce redness whilst brightening the complexion, adding to its already six shades.

The specially developed two-in-one powder is formulated with all the goodness of their already admired setting power, which delivers a flawless, soft, pore-blurring finish that will last up to 18 hours.

This new version, however, boasts a green (yes, green) matcha-like colour that corrects, evens out the skin and neutralises redness.

It is best suited to fair to medium skin tones partial to redness, rosacea and flushing.

I decided to put the green powder the test ahead of its debut to see whether it’s worth the investment (Picture: Scott Da-Silva Wells)

I decided to put the green powder the test to see whether it’s worth the investment. Spoiler, it will become yours and your makeup bag’s new best friend.

The first thing I noticed upon opening is the gorgeous, sweet scent of the powder. This scent automatically gave the powder a more luxe edge.

Unlike other loose powders, you don’t have to carefully tip this powder outinto the lid before dipping in your brush or sponge. Instead, this Huda powder is equipped with a netting coverage that stretches as you push down, covering your applicator with the perfect, even amount of powder.

When first applying, I had to check if there was anything on my powder puff, as it goes on to the skin so lightly it was like nothing was there. However, once I stepped away and applied it, I could see the brightening and blurring effect immediately getting to work.

Matte and poreless: The powder made my skin smooth and perfected – with no trace of green (Picture: Scott Da-Silva Wells)

My undereyes looked far more awake, my pores were minimised – nearly vanishing – and any shine was removed. In truth, it left my overall complexion looking more seamless and smooth.

I went about my day putting the powder to the test, and after applying it at 8 AM and not taking it off until 11 PM, I can honestly say my makeup stood the test.

From battling the wind and sitting on a hot tube to getting my daily steps in, my makeup didn’t budge.

Another element that I loved about this product is that it leaves no white cast or reflection when using the flash on the camera.

We’ve all had those instances when we’ve taken a selfie with friends and the image shows flashback-white undereyes from where you’ve placed your powder. Thankfully, this is not a worry with the Huda powder.

It has been a while since I’ve had a setting powder that transformed my makeup like Huda Beauty’s brand new Easy Bake Matcha Milk Cake.
